Tim
grew up in a musical family in Southern Ontario listening to all kinds
of music but his Dad fell in love with Bluegrass back when Bluegrass just
wasn’t cool. Tim’s Dad started him on the 5 String banjo at
the age of seven, as well as teaching his two younger brothers to play
guitar and mandolin. His mother always encouraged them to all play together
in their first band Backroads Bluegrass. They played many venues and festivals
in Ontario back in the early 80’s and were primarily comprised of
the Cook family. Tim teaches banjo now and hopes one day his kids will
pick up and love music as much as he does to keep the family tradition
going. Tim says he’s met some of the nicest people as a result of
his music and his passion is to always deliver some good solid pickin’
wrapped up with heaps of fun.
